Jimmy, Trina, and Erin White are the founders of the West Georgia Elves. The White’s have a friend that founded an Elves organization in the Charleston, SC area a few years ago. After working with the Charleston organization, and realizing the financial burden that the families of children with serious illnesses experience, the White’s decided to start the West Georgia Elves. Like it’s Charleston model, the West Georgia Elves was founded by a simple idea: that compassionate individuals could “Become an Elf” by sponsoring a deserving child for the holidays.
The West Georgia Elves is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), organization made up of volunteers from throughout the West Georgia and Metro Atlanta area, along with support from the local business community. While the West Georgia Elves are committed to providing assistance to children with serious illnesses and their families throughout the year, their main project is still the holiday gift drive. Each year during the holiday season, the White’s and all of the wonderful volunteers and supporters of the West Georgia Elves continue their mission of making sure children with serious illnesses have a wonderful holiday experience.
